Non-Sport Update's Card Talk


Welcome to Card Talk! This tutorial is designed to walk you though the various steps necessary to become a member of NSU's Card Talk Message Board, and how to use the various features of this board.


FIRST TIME REGISTRATION - After clicking on the register link, you will be taken to a page with the following form to be filled out. All fields with an asterisk are mandatory.

Let's break this down into sections, and we'll explain the hows and whys.

1. This is your user name or handle, which can be almost anything you like (no profanity). Most people choose something that describes them or their hobbies.
2. Your password is case sensitive - make sure to note lower and upper case letters..
3. Type your password again to confirm.
4. IMPORTANT: You will have to respond to an email confirmation we send to this address before your registration is accepted. This is to protect you from having someone else sign you up without your permission.

5. Yes, we really want to know for our own statistics
6. Your real first and last names, please.
7. This is the name that will show in your profile and against your posts. Most people elect to have their user name next to their posts.
8. This email will be shown to other bulletin board users. If you wish to remain anonymous, leave this field empty. You can protect yourself from spammers by changing your email slightly, e.g. to

9. Where do you hail from?
10. How do you support your card trading obession? (optional)
11. What else do you like to do besides collect cards? (optional)
12. If you have a home page or card trade page you'd like to show a link to, please type in the URL.
13. You can choose an avatar to show on your public member profile page. Your avatar will also be displayed below your name on each of your posts. If you choose your own custom avatar, it will have to be an image hosted at your own web site, otherwise you may choose one of the ones made available through this board. By clicking the link "edit your avatar" you will be taken to a page where you may select your choice.

14. Your profile page will contain an indicator of your online status. Other users will be able to send you instant messages. (optional)
