Why is this show called "The Philly Non-Sports Card Show" if it is going to be held in Allentown?
The "Philly Non-Sports Card Show" is the oldest show of its kind in the country, dating back to the mid-1980s. Since its inception, the show has been run by Frank and Phyllis Reighter. Due to a snafu at the current home of the Philly Non-Sports Card Show, The Enterprise Center at Burlington Community College, the Fall '07 was going to be cancelled. Non-Sport Update has stepped in and is running this one-time show in Allentown, PA for continuity's sake. NSU is running this show with the full consent of Frank and Phyllis, who both will be on-hand to help out during the weekend.
Why the Merchants Square Mall? And why are you running a "mall show"?
The Merchants Square Mall is a collectibles and antique market. It is not a mall with Macy's and The Gap. Inside MSM, you will find over 100,000 square feet of specialty shops, antiques, and collectibles with approximately 40 vendors and on-site parking for 550 vehicles. The MSM vendors will be open during our show hours for anyone who would like to visit their shops after attending the show. There is also a restaurant on-site and it will be open for business during show hours.
Three Things You Need To Know Before Attending The Philly Non-Sports Card Show In Allentown, PA
1. The show will be held on Saturday and Sunday. In other words, the show is not open for business on Friday as it has been previously. There will be dealer set-up hours on Friday, however.
2. You will not find Gap Kids in the Merchants Square Mall ;) {see above}. You will find books, clocks, coins, comics, die cast banks, ephemera, glassware, Hot Wheels, and a host of other antiques and collectibles.
3. The Philly Non-Sports Card Show will be held in Allentown, not Philly.
